Floating oil seal is a common name for floating seal, which belongs to a kind of mechanical seal in the dynamic seal. Sealed, mainly used in low-speed heavy-duty occasions. It has the advantages of wear resistance, automatic compensation after end face wear, reliable operation, simple structure, etc., and is widely used in coal mining machinery. Such as bulldozer walking mechanism, scraper conveyor head (tail) sprocket assembly, road header loading mechanism and cantilever section, continuous miner left and right cutting drums and reducers, etc.
The floating oil is sealed in the planetary reducer of the traveling part of the construction machinery, and the end face of the part is dynamically sealed. Due to its high reliability, it is also used as the dynamic seal of the output shaft of the bucket wheel of the dredger. This type of seal is a mechanical seal, generally composed of a floating ring of ferrous alloy material and a matching nitrile rubber O-ring. Floating rings are used in pairs, one rotates with the rotating part and the other is relatively static, which is very different from the oil seal ring.
The floating oil seal consists of two identical metal rings and two rubber rings. Its working principle is that a pair of rubber rings forms a closed space with the cavity (but not in contact with the shaft) under the support of the metal rings. The two ground surfaces of the machine are closely matched and slide relative to each other. On the one hand, it ensures good operation, and on the other hand, it effectively seals off the external dust, water, sludge, etc., and protects the internal grease from leaking.
